Dr. Terzian is a board-certified adult psychiatrist and has completed his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He treats children, adolescents, college students, and adults across the age spectrum. He has particular interest in combined psychiatric medication management and therapy for a broad range of psychiatric conditions, which include depression, anxiety, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. His psychiatric and therapeutic approaches incorporate work with patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior, alongside lifecycle development, identity formation, transitional stages, and relationships. All of his care is individualized to the needs of the patients and families seeking it.
Dr. Terzian received his undergraduate degree in English from Haverford College, his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, and a Master’s of Education in Prevention Science and Practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He completed his adult psychiatry residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was selected as a third year administrative resident, and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was selected as the integrated care chief fellow during his second year of training. At Johns Hopkins, Dr. Terzian was the recipient of the Lidia Palcan Wenz award, given to the first year psychiatric resident who best embodies the ideals of compassion, generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment in patient care.
Throughout his psychiatric education, Dr. Terzian has received specialized education in cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems work, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and in helping students and families navigate the mental health needs of students with schools. Dr. Terzian has done research on emotionally-focused therapy, college mental health, and the physical and mental health effects of economic mobility.
When he is not working, Dr. Terzian enjoys spending time with his wife, his family, his friends, reading, trail running, hiking, writing poetry, cooking, and more.
