Dr. Xuan is a board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in combined psychotherapy and medication management. He also serves on the clinical teaching faculty of the Department of Psychiatry, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he supervised psychiatrists in training. He is also a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and has served as an expert witness in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. He is double board-certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Xuan received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his psychiatric training at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and Penn Behavioral Health, where he received specialty training at the Center for Cognitive Therapy, the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, and the Penn Adult ADHD and Developmental Disorders Program. He was awarded the Kenneth D. Cohen Award for excellence in psychodynamic psychotherapy and was selected as a national fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

Dr. Xuan treats a broad range of conditions including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders including social anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. His practice combines the use of medication when appropriate and specialized psychotherapy tailored to the individual, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and exposure therapy.
